Access Issue: Climbing Regulations/Seasonal Raptor Closures Details

The Joshua Tree National Park Superintendent's Compendium states that:
1. Vegetation is not allowed to be used as an anchor.
2. Only neutral or rock colored bolt hangers are allowed.

Description

Sit start with a high pinch on the arete, get your feet sorted and then work up the arete to a gritty jug and finish with an easy topout. An easy downclimb exists on the west side of the boulder just right of this problem.

Fun moves on rough and unique rock - it would get another star if it wasn't so sharp.

Be careful there is a very loose hold on this problem! Probably wont last through another winter. May 25, 2009

Can't imagine what that loose hold would have been as it's years later now, but the problem is still in good, climbable shape and is pretty damn fun to boot.
