Description

This is a bouldery route, and a great intro to the area. A boulder problem starts off the route, leading to some sequential pocket climbing, a rather thin crux, and then easier climbing to the anchor. The crux comes just before the third bolt, where an undercling can be helpful. This route is most definitely a Black and Tan classic.

Location

This is the fourth route from the right of the lower wall. There is a draw hanging on the second bolt, and the route begins on a chalky undercling.

Protection

4 bolts lead to anchors.

[Hide Comment] Hard for 12a. More like 12b. Bolted stupidly. Need a double draw on the 3rd to clip without having to climb into groundfall territory. Once the clips are figured out...this route climbs beautifully and is on some amazing stone. Go try Smoking Drum up the hill! Another amazing route. Apr 5, 2010

[Hide Comment] I'll second the double draw on the third bolt. It would definitely help the cause. Feb 23, 2017

[Hide Comment] Ground fall potential if you blow the 3rd bolt. Maybe I had bad beta but it felt like a hard 12c Oct 27, 2019

[Hide Comment] I agree with the funky bolt placement around the 3rd. But damn am I in Rifle or What? Another Polished AF line. Super disappointed, looks so good from down below. But soooo slick. Feb 7, 2021
