Talus Traverse

V3, Boulder, 12 ft (4 m),  Avg: 2.5 from 2 votes
FA: unknown
Massachusetts > Eastern, MA > Den Rock Park > Building Blocks

Description

This fun warmup traverse follows the featured lip of the largest talus boulder. Starting on the right side of the lip on a jug, move left, crossing through crimps and slopers. The crux is moving around the corner onto a slippery sloper, then continuing up jugs on the arete with bad feet to the topout.

Location

In the pile of boulders below the Building Blocks section. The tallest boulder has an obvious lip that faces the Petroleum Based Buttress.

Protection

A pad and someone to move it. The problem isn't high, but there's a sharp rock below the crux.

[Hide Comment] There are a couple harder variations to this if you avoid the jugs or it you sit start on the undercling below the crux of the V3 route. Sep 4, 2009
