Description

Stand start on right low crimp and high left pinch/sidepull. The meat of the route comes next with intricate footwork leading you into a very slopey right leaning rail. Continue to apex of rail and top out directly. (hint: the lip right above you is bomber)

Location

Between battle of the bulge and trail crew. (Its sqeezed in there, but suprisingly isnt an eliminate)

Not sure on official start holds, but if you stand start and use the big ledge for a foot and climb up the face through the slanting sloper it felt v6ish to me. Awesome problem.. you have to work your feet. It may just be my favorite of the grade in the state. Nov 3, 2014
Any clarification on the consensus/ grade of this thing? I'd like to work on it more, the start seems a bit awkward to get off the ground (beta/photo?) but the middle moves are great. I think the comments are confusing some (maybe just me?) who want to give it more traffic. Nov 3, 2014

It's V4. Wisconsin defintely has nothing harder than V4. Jun 19, 2012

Couldn't be harder than V4+ at worst if I have done it. Jun 19, 2012

I heart-breakingly punted off the finishing ledges on this, it reminded me that bringing a rope to scrub up rarely done problems at this area is a good idea.

Might seem reachy but there are plenty of foot options for the shorter folk. Also, grabbing the sloper in a particular way helped immensely. Mar 10, 2012

I was thinking about going to the "May Day South Bluff Bouldering" thing. There was a thread on here about it but I haven't heard anything more about it. If that doesn't happen I would be down Ryan Apr 26, 2010

Yeah I'd love to get back on it. I was planning on either going to the lake or the dodge this weekend, what are your plans? I've probably spent more time on this than any other 5 or 6 at the dodge. I'd say hard 6 is probably fair. Also I think at some point I used a thumb press which is ridiculous so I probably need new beta... Apr 26, 2010

Sandbag indeed. After sampling some of the lakes hard routes I realized I may have underestimated this one. Enough of a bump up? Apr 26, 2010

No star rating for you! Next! Nov 26, 2008
Very cool problem and I agree that it doesn't feel squeezed in at all. Definitely recommend that people get on it.

Do I dare give it a positive star rating to encourage others even though I didn't send??... Nov 26, 2008
