Description

Begin easy climbing straight up the middle of the face to the big ledge half way up, then climb the right-facing dihedral to the top. There is a large loose rock in this corner system a few moves into it. The crux is surpassing the first couple moves in the dihedral. There is adequate protection for lead climbing throughout, especially after you gain the ledge.

Location

Start just to the right of the large pedestal and go straight up to the ledge and dihedral to the top.

Protection

Long slings may be helpful for top roping.

Standard rack for leading. A 2-4" piece might work somewhere above halfway.

I thought this took gear well compared to other climbs at the mounds. Ample supply of features to build an anchor for the second. Descent gully directly behind that exits behind pedestal left Jul 22, 2012
