This ominous looking crack is actually easier than it looks and I'd even call it fun! The lower portion of the route is pretty uneventful but the upper chimney is classic, hence the 3 star rating. Placing a Big Bro toward the outside of the chimney when your on the inside is kind of interesting also.

Look for the large crack right of La Goellette and Das Boot. Start in the bottom of a trench or for some more fun do the jump start about 15' up from a large ledge.

Small to hand size cams for the first 2/3's and Big Bro's for the top. A green Big Bro fits nicely at the bottom of the chimney and a red Alien makes a good directional for the follower at the top.

FWIW - it's also possible to skirt right on the slot ledge. This may not be as fun as the chimney, but it has some value. Easy, although you'll feel slightly sketched. It protects with medium cams. Jun 13, 2014

I've climbed this a few times now and have come to the conclusion that it's awesome! Dec 13, 2009
