Description

This is another short route worth a run when the popular routes are taken or if you are entertaining a group on a busy day...

In my guidebook it is given 5.9 but the China Dragon finish is about the same difficulty as Lakeside Jam... The direct finish is harder so maybe they had that in mind...

A few steps right of the start of Lakeside/China Dragon there is a nice flake you can layback off the ground... A nice rest halfway up then either continue up left on another flake/crack to the top of Chins Dragons crack and on to the summit at 5.7... Or finish on an independent line straight up on a crack (harder)...

Location

10 feet right of China Dragon's start...

Protection

regular rack or TR gear...

I really enjoyed this route doing the direct finish. Fun moves all the way. I'd call it 5.8+, challenging, but less challenging than The Horn. Worth doing if you are there doing China Dragon. Sep 25, 2016
