I'm a 5'9 200lb barrel chested frame so starting inside the chimney at the bottom wasn't even a consideration. I tried laybacking to the right on the outside (almost worked) and then tried an opposing gaston type move with no success (end of session I was tired). Either way, as far as chimneys go this one is awesome regardless of its difficulty. Apr 24, 2014

I agree, this hurts to just get into position to start the route. You need to be stick and bones or climb up the side then sneak into the crack. Nov 5, 2009

One could find themselves stuck in this chimney near the bottom. It's very tight and hard to move. Dec 2, 2008

Well, that better be one hard ass chimney to get the highly coveted v1+ rating... Basically you would have to be squeezing through that sucka...rearranging ribs, certain joints, and making sure you only exhale when needed... But, what do I know. Certainly wouldn't mind a day back at the Dodge once and a while. JJ Aug 6, 2008
