On the west side of this boulder, sit start on the arete to the right 1ft. of prominent dihedral (V3) Sorrowful Journey. Go up rail then right to crimp, to right handhold then to good holds up top. Big jug in dihedral is off! just before you go right.

2 crashpads.

Yeah, Murph read the beta, it says "sit start" and it starts on the dihedral and moves up and right avoiding the "oh my God" hold that I fell from. Oh, by the way you, Proto and Jarod did a shitty spot job. The one you sent is V3-4 on the south side. Quit inflating, or soon your ego will blow out like the tips of my climbing shoes. Sep 8, 2009
I had been trying this one for years. Never got up the arete. Could not figure out the feet. I'm glad somebody could power up it. I did do the one a little more to the right that goes up the thin dihedral (hard start!) and the moves back left. Try the one that goes up the thin dihedral all the way to the top. This one is frightening. Also on the southwest side is an iron cross type of move where you have to fire for a decent hold. Go do some of the Cascade Boulders nearby and let me know what you think. I think the close proximity could make the area a cool spot. We have had a place in Alpine since the early '90s, so I get to forage around quite a bit. Jun 21, 2010
