A tremendous trad route among the sport climbs. Takes a diagonaling line across a very steep wall. Tom worked really hard doing this one with all gear going in on the lead as usual. Start on the right side of the wall at a tiny corner. mMve up to the hand traverse across the wall and a slight stance. Step left to a stupendous steep hand and fist crack in a corner.

On the right side of the big amphitheatre.

Some fixed pins, cams to 3.5- tree belay

Hey Peter !

What a classic line, it for sure would have bolts now but Tom was SO good with pins, they were bomber.
Named after the old water station on the road to Cathedral, by the river. Jul 26, 2011

I remember fondly being out there with Tom as he worked the FA. We rapped off to clean the route and could only really scrub the top ten feet or so--it was just SOOOO steep. On lead, Tom, ever the focused technician, made the moves look effortless. Only later, working the moves with a toprope, was the true difficulty revealed. A masterpiece. Oct 1, 2010
