There are many seasonal raptor closures with varying dates and specific boundaries. These generally effect The Monument, Kiss of the Lepers, Picnic Lunch Wall and/or Smith Rock group, and possibly elsewhere. These usually run from February to the beginning of August, but each closure is usually shorter than this, and is dependent on the birds' behavior. Description

The crux move is the first move. After that the route backs off to much easier nubbin hiking to the anchors.

Location

In the middle of the west face. Start by standing on the large boulder.

Protection

Quickdraws. Two bolt anchor.

This has got to be the best 5.7 sport route in Smith. So nice, we climbed it twice! 1st bolt can be clipped by standing on the boulder then start the lead just to the left of this boulder. May 15, 2023
