The Hole

V3 PG13, Boulder, 15 ft (5 m),  Avg: 3.1 from 9 votes
FA: unknown
California > Sierra Eastside > June Lake Area > June Lake Boul… > Deadman Summit > Deadman I > Center Block

Description

Delicate slab climbing on small but positive holds gets you to a point below the big hole. Decide which hand to go for it and go for it.

With the hold reached you can decide to push on direct at a scary V1, or move right into the corner, for a more amenable finish.

Location

On the right side of the block, below the obvious 'hole' just below mid height.

[Hide Comment] The direct finish is much more classic and proud than bailing into the corner. The mental crux is at mid-height, moving up the thin flake above the hole. The upper section has secure climbing on good pockets and it gets less steep. One of the best problems at Deadmans. May 23, 2020
