Description

Getting to the first bolt is the crux on this route and if you fall trying to get to the bolt you will take a long nasty fall because of where this route starts...ledge with a drop of to the left onto boulders. You can make this climb easier by stemming off of the tree to get to the first bolt. After all that, climb up passing a small flake and following the bolts up and left and then up a nice steep wall to finish.

Location

Up on a ledge, right next to a tree...

Protection

8 bolts to bolted anchor.

Tree is still there. Good route regardless of how you start it and wonderfully purile name. Jun 17, 2016

Is the tree still there? If so, yes, you can use it at the start, but when we put it up we did it both ways: with and without the tree. Jun 16, 2016

it has been a long tradition to start this climb by stemming the tree to reach the holds higher up the face. Thompson's 1997 guidebook lists this as 10 a/b Oct 21, 2015
