Description

Pedestal Left follows the crack up the dihedral on the left side of the pedestal as the name implies. It's a good choice for beginners or for getting comfortable with leading on quartzite. The crux lies about halfway up (along with some questionable rock quality), after which the rock becomes much more featured. Protection is adequate for lead climbers.

Location

On one of the southern-most buttresses (Yellow Lichen) of the Prairie Walls area.

Top access:
There is a gully to the left of Yellow Lichen Crack or a walking the trail through the woods (a bit longer).

Protection

Standard TR set up with an assortment of cracks fairly close to the edge.

Small to medium pro for leading, definitely nothing bigger than 3" is necessary.
