Description

Climb the right side of the 30 ft. tall buttress to the left of the base of the Big Arete area. Climb begins in the center and gradually follows right along with the crack.

Protection

Natural anchors. Scramble up the chimney to the right of the climb, behind the buttress, to set up toprope. There is a small pine tree at the top and two blocks about the size of car engines. Try to avoid tying anchor to the poor little tree, use the blocks instead. About 50 ft of webbing needed.

Flake near middle is a bit hollow and broken. Good to pull on, but be careful with any trad placements. Apr 4, 2016

Can be lead as trad too. Fairly easy placements make it a good choice for the new trad leader. Mar 2, 2015
There are now bolted chain anchors at the top. Good warm-up when everything else is busy if you don't mind stemming up the chimney. Jan 3, 2014
