Limbo

5.7, Trad, Sport, TR, 60 ft (18 m),  Avg: 1.8 from 16 votes
FA: unknown
Arizona > Central Arizona > *Phoenix Areas > Little Granite… > Lost Bandana Area > Lost Bandana Wall

Description

Pitch 1) Limbo starts on the left end of Lost Bandana Wall in a short corner system. Climb the corner (pro), then onto the face up and right to a bolt. Pass two more bolts climbing up the face to a large ledge above. There's a crack in the back that you can set a gear anchor (might be bolts now). If you only do this pitch, you can either walk off the right end of the wall (careful!) or rappel off one of the fixed anchor setups.

Pitch 2) Around to the left is a short, but nice dihedral. You might have to move your belay. Climb the corner to the top. Walk off.

Location

Right of Slot Style but left of Spectrum & or Lawless.

Protection

single #2 or #3 cam and 3 bolts.  2 bolt anchor.

[Hide Comment] The bolt down low is in bad shape, but the corner above the ledge is super fun. May 28, 2008

[Hide Comment] The route starts right of climb at first sting and left of the arete then goes diagonally right around the arete and tops out right of a huge upper flake with some loose pieces. Running directly vertical gets harder than grade. Mar 26, 2014

[Hide Comment] This climb is protected by a single #2 or #3 cam and 3 bolts in good shape. Two bolt anchor at the top. There’s also a second pitch listed in Phoenix Rock 2. A fun, 40ft, left facing corner that takes Cams from #4 to #1 (single set would be plenty). The two pitches can be combine with minimal rope drag. Mar 27, 2019
