Good sport climb on the neck of the Camel. Faces due east, so we were able to do it in the noon shade which was nice.

First bolt you clip from the ground, then actually step down and left. Move up on big cobble holds. Good cobbles throughout the climb, with good jugs, crimp edges, pinches and huecos (I'm sure those held awesome cobbles at some point.)

The camel, on the east face of the camel's neck.

6 bolts. None are great, one had a sketchy looking old hanger.

2 bolts with chains on top.

I was the last person to climb it yesterday and noticed that the 4th (out of 5 that I saw, second from top, the one above the 10cm hole) bolt's nut is loose and is rusty (could unscrew by hand). I contemplated taking it off or hand-tightening and hand-tightening seemed better (followed by immediate email to someone who can fix it). So I HAND TIGHTENED it. Do not fall on it until it is fixed. Didn't have the wrench to properly tighten it. Emailing friends of the pinnacles and author of my guide book right now asking to replace the nut and tightening it with a wrench. 4th bolt is crucial (and probably gets a lot of falls) as the 5th bolt is way to the left and is a pain to clip while hanging on a pinch on the right. The hanger on the bolt IMO is not sketchy. In fact, it is quite beefy and in good condition (not rusted out) It is just not a modern stainless hanger. I found the harder climbing to be a couple of bolts past this one. Oct 21, 2013

Yes, I agree with the description. There is one bolt with a very sketchy hanger and unfortunately it protects a tough sequence. Aug 27, 2010

Can also toprope this by using the 5.3 approach up the back of the pillar. Exposed, but doable. Jan 12, 2009
