RAIN AND WET ROCK The sandstone in Red Rocks is fragile and is very easily damaged when it is wet. Details

Description

This is an excellent steep route for its grade. The only reason for two stars is the fragile nature of the route.

Location

On the steep east facing wall, on the formation to the right of Arrowhead arete.

Protection

4 bolts, chains

one of my favorite routes so far at Red Rock.
just about every hold is as good as it looks so go for it. Apr 1, 2017
As of March 2016, the 1st bolt was extremely loose. I hand tightened the nut, but it would be great if someone could tighten it up properly. Apr 13, 2016

Don't fall before clipping the first bolt. Shorter folks might have trouble clipping from the side pull in which case a stick clip would be a good idea. Nov 20, 2015

Only fragile holds are the last 4 feet or so where there are some thin plates. Otherwise a solid route. Nov 1, 2011
