Description

A solid, powerful problem with technical feet that would be classic if it didn't fly under the radar. Sit start the left side of the slightly bulging face at a jug in the crack with your ass on the low boulder behind you. Follow a seam to the right for a couple of moves, then using a right hand sidepull and a left hand crimp/sloper, dyno to a better hold up and right (crux). Match the hold, then top out straight up.

Location

This problem is on the Crack Boulder, visible from the trail, and around the corner to the left if you are looking at the Crack of Pain.

[Hide Comment] An overlooked climb with really good movement and a definitive crux. Don't underestimate the moves post crux. They're not that hard, just kind of weirder/trickier than they appear. I punted off them twice and ended up having to come back another day to finish off the climb. Kind of sharp, but not too bad, especially when compared to other climbs on this boulder (Crack Of Pain!). :)

I thought this was harder than most of the other v8's in the area, as I found the crux to be very low percentage. May 4, 2015

[Hide Comment] The footwork is really tricky on this thing. Really unique climb for Pway. I think this and Rubber Cement are my 2 favorite V8's at Blair. youtube.com/watch?v=tR_gVGz… Nov 27, 2016

[Hide Comment] Found one of the holds had broken last weekend on the traverse into the crux.
For some people this won’t change the beta at all but if you use the crimp above the slopes, it be missing now. Jan 6, 2024

[Hide Comment] While a big chunk of Pawtuckaway becomes a bit less accessible in the winter months I decided to find some nice projects in Blair. I saw this and loved the movement. It went immediately after discovering some key foot placement that made the big throw feel a lot closer. It's a great climb, worth the time on it. Just wish it was a bit nicer to the skin.
