McBirney committed suicide last summer (2009). I don't know why or all the details but definitely a bummer. He was why I got into climbing, and indirectly responsible for all the new routes around the Spokane area. He actually loaned me his drill once. Russ Shultz and I used it to rebolt Hair of the Dog at Dishman. RIP Martin Jun 20, 2010

Stunning line. Burly and sustained. Sharp down low, but quality. Can protect it entirely with cams. The anchor is three quarter-inchers with tat, not chains as the current guide describes. Sep 3, 2009
