Massive Attack

5.9+, Trad, 50 ft (15 m),  Avg: 2.5 from 16 votes
FA: Stuart and Heidi Chapin, 2003
Tennessee > Tennessee Wall > (7) Orange Blossom Wall

Description

Bouldery start - use a good edge to start and pull a roof/overlap and fight your way up to a stance. (Look for stacked rocks at the base.) Climb an arching crack/flake, (with hollow sounding rock) up to where it meets a big roof. Traverse under the roof on underclings and smears, remembering your second, to the anchors on House of the Rising Sun.

Might be a better quality route if the rock was better.

Location

On a wall capped by a big roof, to the right of the Centerfold large right facing corner.

Protection

Trad rack. Rap Anchors.

[Hide Comment] Climbed this route on Sunday. Boldery start that will require an attentive belayer. Plenty of gear placments, just have to watch for hollow areas. The best part of the climb is the start and the traverse to the anchors. The traverse is full value. May 17, 2016
