Access Issue: RAIN & WET ROCK
Details
Stoney Point sandstone is fragile and is very easily damaged when it is wet. Holds rip off and climbs have been and will continue to be permanently damaged due to climbers not respecting this phenomenon. After a heavy storm the rock will remain wet, sometimes for several days. PLEASE DO NOT CLIMB during or after rain. A good rule of thumb is that if the ground near your climb is at all damp (and not powdery dry sand), then do not climb. There are many gyms in the area if you need a fix!
Description
one of the greats.
jump start or reach up for the tall folks to the crystal ball. Hump is the best term I can use to describe the move. Hump the ball bringing your right leg up and on top. use the small side pull for your right hand. sack up and reach left for the hold under the roof. Stand up, match, grab the soft ball to the left and fire to the jug. ROck up and out for a spicy high ball top out with great holds. This route is full value and if a crowded day you will get quiet the fan club when sending.
Location
turlock boulder, north side. On the obvious over hang just right of crowd pleaser.
Protection
pads and spotters are good.
[Hide Photo] One of my top-outs, this time actually with welcome spotters.
[Hide Photo] David Serviss going for it.
[Hide Photo] This is Crystal Ball Mantel. Mike Brown sitting on it the way it should be done. Sam spotting & Crowd Pleaser is above him

Hard V5... But great moves, obvious line, flat landing, and a tall, exciting top out. Aug 16, 2019
