Description

Hidden in the trees about 100m right of Post Creek Falls is this shallow gully climb. Despite Post Creek's long climbing history, this climb had no signs of ascent prior to ours. The difficult mixed chockstone move, coupled with the obscure, hard-to-see location, seem to have kept this climb untraveled. However, if you know of other ascents prior to the one listed above, please comment with date and party names.
P1-Easy ice with two short steps ends beneath a huge chockstone blocking the gully. Pass this via a dihedral just right of the chockstone with handjams, tool hooks, and slabby feet. Belay at trees. 35m WI2,M5
P2-Hike up the gully about 200' to the next shorter pitch. A steep curtain leads to rolling, easy ice and a tree belay. 25m WI3-

Location

100m right of Post Creek Falls, this one will be invisible from most vantages. Approach as for Post Creek, but slog up this gully once the ice is glimpsed through the trees.

Protection

Screws, including stubbies. Cams 1"-3". Large stoppers.
