Description

This climb has the best seat in the house for threading the anchors. Hard down low with a relatively easy finish out the left side of the big roof if you figure it out. A slightly easier start known as the Cheap Seats Variation 5.10+ starts in the same spot but scrambles up the gully then steps from the flake to the wall. Three bolts and you are on the upper part of Skybox.

Location

Left side of the Forgotten Wall. Starts just left of the chimney gully that leads to the top of a giant flake with a boulder on top. It follows right angling holds and crack/seams up to the left side of 10ft. roof.

Protection

Bolts, anchors

The holds between the 2nd and 3rd bolt of Skybox was soaking wet yesterday (Feb 2) afternoon. The rest of the climb was dry. The water seemed to be coming from behind the rock - the rest of the wall was dry and the climb was in the sun. The other routes I climbed (#8 & #9 on pdf topo) were dry and the routes I looked at (#2 - #14) seemed to be dry too.

this is an interesting climb with interesting moves. Feb 3, 2008

I started on Skybox but ended up on Wreckless Abandon. I suspect an earlier party did the same thing as I found two bail biners before bailing myself. Anyway if there is 25 feet between the last bolt and the anchors you are on the wrong route. When you encounter two lines of bolts go right. Jan 10, 2014

That's pretty funny John. I would think the description about climbing to the left side of the giant roof would have been enough to help you figure it out. You just wanted those biners more than doing the route. Jan 11, 2014
