Description

A good intro to grade 3 as it only has a short challenging section that you can protect with very little trouble...

Climb the very easy low angle ice heading up the gully... For the grade 3 version of this climb break right toward the top of the gully up a short pillar to a big pine tree... Only a few moves on steep ice...

There are a few harder options that come in on the left side of the gully and the direct finish right up above... I dont know if these routes have there own names...

Location

To the left of the Main Flows at the Parking Lot Wall... Look for the obvious gully sround the corner...

Protection

Mostly long screws...

There is another gully that might be G3 but the one i mentioned is a more obvious feature... the guide book is very vague when it gets to rumney and many nice lines are unlisted... if you have Knowledge of rumney ice please help on this site... i would love this to be the place to go for good rumney ice info... A agree Lee. This site could certainly fill a void. The guidebook is vague and the other ice sites don't really describe Rumney either. We need photos, topos, etc. Dec 12, 2007

That would be rad if the Holderness corner iced up well but i think its just a dream...
C3 as far as i know is to the right of all the rock climbs at Parking Lot Wall but to the left of the main ice flows which are on a cliff that is not used for rock climbing... The main flows are up the hill from the far section of the main lot near the pay tube...
This is my own interpetation though as this old book was for the most part piss poor at describing the location of rumney ice... Jan 12, 2009
