Description

A lot of people lead this as a first climb. It's an easy climb that is well protected. The crux comes at the top with a buldge.

Location

At the very end of the Short Cliffs (all the way to the left).

Protection

6 bolts to chains. You will need long runners to make a good top rope setup.

For clarification - If Short Cliffs are the continuous set of cliffs to the left (from the base,) Toddler is on the far right if you are at the bottom of the cliff. It is to the left if you are on top. Jun 17, 2008

Easy to find at the far right facing the short cliffs area. Good warm up to the type of rock and great for teaching beginners. Jun 27, 2012

Almost a year from my first attempt at climbing, I made it to the top. The anchors are still a belly flop away for me, but there is room up on that ledge for two people. We used toddler as anchors for the adjacent route First Lead (trad climbing), practicing top belay, and practicing cleaning anchors and swapping to a rappel. Mar 12, 2016
Chains are fairly far back on the top (flat) portion of the rock, long slings are needed to extend the rope past the edge of the rock to reduce friction. Also, the chains are difficult to reach from the top, you have to down climb a few feet to get to them and there is not really anything to anchor to to lower to the chains. May 26, 2016

Great spot to teach lead climbing: lots of holds, good opportunity for pro if desired. The anchors are not ideally located Apr 7, 2018
