Edge of the Universe

FA: Benjamin Oberman and Bruce Rubio, July 1996
California > San Bernardino… > Running Springs… > Keller Peak > (f) Campsite 7 > Crag at the End… > Southeast Face

Description

Start on the same block as for the Void, but lean left and clip the first bolt. The crux is really a sequence of balance moves, leaving the block and passing the first bolt. Although the difficulty eases up a bit, there are several nice, delicate moves to be had on this short climb as you work past the remaining bolts to the anchor.

To descend, walk off to the right (when facing the wall).

Location

Edge OTU is the bolted line on the left side of the southeast face.

Protection

5 bolts, bolted anchor

[Hide Comment] Awkward and somewhat contrived at the crux as you can simply step off onto a boulder (see photo). Sep 28, 2007

[Hide Comment] Hmmm. Not sure what difference that makes, other than as a rest. You still have to get back on the face and do the crux, if you want to continue up the route. Mar 30, 2008
