Description

Ride The Woody is a fun, pumpy route with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. This route follows pockets and incuts up a steep, exposed, overhanging wall. No particular move is very hard, but hang out too long, and the pump can creep up on you.

Location

Ride The Woody is the third bolt line when viewing the Main Wall from left to right.

Protection

6 bolts, 2 bolt anchor.

[Hide Comment] When we did the FA, there was indeed, a rock protruding from the pockets in the shape of a phallus, hence the name. It was a great hold! I think this geological formation has since been broken off. Nov 26, 2007

[Hide Comment] Matthias, check out the photo. The woody lives. It also looks like someone recently replaced the third bolt with a fresh stainless 5 piece. Jun 22, 2008
[Hide Comment] unfortunately during the recent rebolting effort the woody broke off. which is probably good since, although its rad, could have hurt a belayer. Oct 13, 2014

[Hide Comment] Ride The Woody now has its own anchors. At the second-to-last bolt, head straight up via a new bolt to anchors, rather than cutting left to the Humboldt Current anchors. Please consider using the new anchors, especially if someone is on Humboldt Current, to avoid clusterf**king the Humboldt Current anchors. Apr 13, 2015
