Description

This route climbs the face left of the slanting chimney. Straightforward and unremarkable until the crux, which is perplexing. Staying left of the arete requires some tricky moves on delicate feet. Going right into the groove looks more secure but lacks style and could be a questionable fall.

Location

Left of the obvious slanting chimney, and right most of the short routes at the circus.

Protection

Bolts.

A strange route. Easy until it gets hard. The arete is significantly trickier than the rest of the route. I'd call the arete move 10b or even harder, but the rest is much easier so I don't know what to grade it, especially since you can avoid the arete by going up the crack. Oct 14, 2009

The crack is off. YDS rates routes by the hardest move. Jul 7, 2013
