Access Issue: The historical approach to the Icehouse crosses private property. Details

The historical approach to the Icehouse along Cougar Ridge Trail passes through private property. A land owner has asked that climbers find an alternate approach and discussions with that owner about possible alternative approaches are underway. Until there is a better solution, please do no not access the Icehouse by Cougar Ridge Trail and respect private land boundaries.

Description

Good climbing with some steeper-than-it-looks moves. Good pump, broken holds at crux have moved grade up in several people's opinions to 11d/12a.

Location

Scramble up to a ledge to begin about 50 feet right of Baby Face, just right of a large hole (someone was living in this thing for a while-it's pretty spacious).

Hard move past the 3rd bolt. not sure on the grade but felt harder than other 11b's. Aug 30, 2013

Fun route, bouldery start to a ledge, then technical climbing to the chains. I did not climb it before holds broke off, but I think this climb is still in the mid 5.11 range. Aug 2, 2020
