Description

This is a sweet, blank slab that shoots straight to the anchor of Cocaine. This is the most difficult slab that I've been on here at the Garden but nevertheless a great route.

Protection

Six drilled pins to a three chain anchor (same anchor as Cocaine).

A very memorable route that I repeated on dozens of occasions in the 1980s. I haven't been back in decades. At the 2nd drilled pin on Cocaine (where it goes left), 99% Pure goes straight up to a 3rd drilled pin 5 feet higher. Crux moves gain a sloping footholds on a thin horizontal rock strata. A balance traverse leads right a few moves make committing runout moves to reach 4th pin. Gain a tiny right-facing corner where this route joins Cocaine. Solid stone & insecure technical slab moves is what I remember liking about this route. Dec 30, 2018
