Trolling for Tuna

5.8, Sport, 30 ft (9 m),  Avg: 1.9 from 28 votes
FA: Brad Singer, Dave LePere & John Cardmon, October 1999
California > San Bernardino… > Big Bear Lake Area > Big Bear South > Highway 18 Crags > Fisherman's But… > Fisherman's But… > Fisherman's Buttress…

Description

Climb the short, vertical face via edges and textured rock with a distinct crux moving past the first bolt.

The rating is for staying on the face the entire time - stemming back, especially at the crux, will make the climb easier.

  • Due to the position of the anchors it's best to rappel off as opposed to lowering.

Location

Furthest right bolted line and just right of a huge pine tree; it's also just a short ways right of Stanley-Slip Bobber.

Protection

3 bolts, chain anchors
