2014 nesting closure Details
Totem Pile and the climbs right of it are closed for nesting falcons, per a sign posted by The Access Fund and that I saw on 4/21/14. The falcons are there, please respect the closure.
Access Notes Details
CRAGS and the Access Fund are beginning new projects to help improve access to Donner Summit. You can communicate access issues directly at CRAGS’ Donner Summit page norcalcrags.org/crags/donner/. In 2014, the Truckee Donner Land Trust and the Access Fund jointly launched the Save Donner Climbing campaign. The following year, it purchased formerly private land for public conservation and access, which includes the Black Wall and other nearby cliffs.
DescriptionBoulder a slopey move to get on the brown slab. Wander up and clip the first bolt on the gorgeous head wall. Tricky but easy (5.11) climbing off the slab leads up a pretty dihedral.
Rest up at the top of the corner, then funk out of the dihedral onto the powerful face. Pull crux moves to get to the horizontal. Take a quick shake and then yard through the last tenuous moves to hit the anchors.
