Description

This route was a bit difficult to locate. When counting from left to right from mid-crag pinnacle it is the 3rd route (at time of this post). Unfortunately there is a loner bolt between Cool Enough & Jack Be Nimble that makes you think that is the start. It is not.

When looking for the start identify the first bolt as being to the right of a shallow left leaning seam. The bolt that is to the left of the seam appears to be an orphan.

Location

3rd route right of mid-crag pinnacle - first bolt is right of seam about 8 feet up.

Protection

11 bolts to chain anchor. Reduce Anchor Wear: With this an all routes at NJC, please use your own equipment for Top Roping.

Cleaning anchor is not fun. Apr 11, 2017
Climbed in NJC last week for couple days. Weather was perfect and next to nobody was around. The front and right side of Boy Scout wall were in shade all day. Jack be Nimble was our favorite route. Sometimes hard to tell what route is what out there but this is the one to highest anchor on the wall with11 bolts. Would guess close to 90ft as I was near end of my 60 m rope. Fun climbing on good holds throughout until the anchor which has basically no stance. I reached around from the left to set anchor and hung on gear to clean. BTW does anyone know what's up with the "carpet" at the bottom of crag around start of this and nearby routes? Mar 19, 2017

An update to what I posted back in Nov 2014: I climbed this route again on 12/12/2015, and the shuts have been replaced. There are now chains on top of the route. Dec 14, 2015

Yeah, the anchors do look pretty worn, the left moreso than the right

Can anyone point out any move on this route that is 5.8? Apr 8, 2013
Excellent for climbers learning how to lead, though the anchors on Cool Enough are easier in that scenario. If even a little experience, zero pump for the warm up - basically just gets the hands moving. That said, quite fun all the same. Jan 3, 2013

You can top rope this route after leading "cool enough". Seems like the same climb with slightly smaller holds. Both are very fun climbs and good warm ups. Aug 22, 2011

Good warm up route. Once you get closer to the anchors, your going to have to move left in order to get to the anchor. Jun 11, 2011

Great spot for a warm up or for climbers learning how to lead. Holds are solid and plentiful. I agree, easier than the rating. On the plus side its one of the longer routes on Boy Scout. Jan 30, 2011

Another good route on Boy Scout. Like the others, fun climbing on great holds. And like most on this wall, easier than its original rating. The climb is mostly 5.6 to 5.7; the move to gain the anchor gives it the grade. May 26, 2008
