As noted in the name, a balancy mantle move is the crux in this excellent route.

Start below a left-arching overlap. Smear up to the overlap and clip a bolt above to protect the mantle move. Surmount the overlap and climb the slabby face to the top.

Starts just right of Deprived Child, a short distance from the bottom of the descent gully.

Four bolts, bolted anchors.

That mantle is a fun move. Dec 26, 2006

Must do route if you're going to Currahee. Great route, and not very hard. Good for breaking into the 10's on lead. Feb 7, 2008

If you need to for whatever reason, it is possible to climb out of Mikey's Mantle to the Pepsi/Deprived Child Anchor Ledge. I'd say it's maybe 5-8 feet of 5.7 climbing above the anchor. Apr 4, 2016

Super fun + boulder-y first move and some decently fun slab thru to anchors. Nice exposure. Also some quality rock for the area. Feb 4, 2018
