Description

Convenient but not as good as some of the others in the area. Starts low angle on a somewhat forced line to the top. Seems to naturally climb to the left of the bolt line or you find yourself in the broken gully.

Location

First route on the far left. Start just left of a dirty/loose crack.

Southern CA sport climbing guide route # 875

Protection

9 bolts, large shut anchors, rap down

Pretty sick crux section from the hueco towards the top! Jan 2, 2014
The anchor shuts are getting pretty worn. I'd say almost half way though. Apr 2, 2012

Not sure of the actual beta used to put up this route. There are chalk marks all over the wall, and even when following the bolt path, this route can be a "choose your own adventure" type climb. You can certainly make this route harder than 5.9 if you choose different beta than what the route is supposed to take. I ended up doing a crimpy sequence and used a heel hook at the last vertical section before the anchors (I thought this was probably not the correct beta, but there was a lot of chalk on it...) Fun route all the same.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend this route for a novice 5.9 leader due to technical route finding, although the moves may only be 5.9ish. Jan 12, 2012

Perhaps no discernible crux but fairly sustained, and certainly true to the grade, especially compared to most of the moderates on Boyscout Wall. I thought Rob's had good movement and at least a couple spots of uncertainty, to keep you on your toes. Fun Route! Mar 16, 2009
