Jabba the Hut

5.11c, Sport, 50 ft,  Avg: 3.5 from 20 votes
FA: Brian Mullin, '88
Colorado > San Luis Valley > Penitente Canyon > Penitente - Inner Canyon

Description

Though it might not look too spectacular, this is among the best 11s in the canyon. The holds are not sharp, the climbing is interesting and the rock is great. It's way better than Rocketman, that you always see people on.

Location

Past the Virgin there is a blob of rock where a boulder has cracked and sluffed off a few feet - the resulting crack is Jabba's mouth. Stand back, cross your eye's and you'll see it.

Protection

Bolts.

[Hide Comment] Monos, thumberclings, dynos, edging, sinker pockets, gastoning, and stemming all in one engaging, well-protected, short, bouldery route. Get on this rig! Jun 19, 2017
