Very popular. Begins underneath the right edge of the balcony going straight up the crack and shallow corner (crux). Continue over the right edge of the balcony's roof.

Standard Blue Mounds toprope (long slings helpful) or leadable with nuts, hexes, and small to midsized cams.

This tends to be a go-to climb for people wanting to test their mettle at Blue Mounds. The huge roof is sure to make avid climbers giddy. With a little care to not get stuck underneath the roof, a small crimp grants access to the crack leading to the balcony 2/3 the way up. I would say this climb trends a little closer to 5.10, but it's hard to press the case since there are only one or two moves circumventing the roof that are worth of the rating. Aug 28, 2018
