Description

Red Tide tiptoes up the crystal laden slab on the right side of Retardant Rock. Sustained, with a challenging start. Some may want a 0.75/1 camalot for a small runout in the upper half of the climb.

[Hide Comment] I didn't go up and right to the chains - the mantle on to that ledge is spicy with a runout fall onto the slab if you blow it. Bring a #1 or #2 to protect this move, otherwise you can go left to another set of chains.

Sick route! May 12, 2016

[Hide Comment] Starting move felt harder than 10a/b to me...possible a flake broke off? The left flake low down sounds VERY hollow, and another flake halfway up seemed to shift when stepped on.
Otherwise great long climb, very sustained with a spooky finishing move. Agreed with above comment, bring a #2 cam to protect it. Sep 2, 2020

[Hide Comment] I brought a #1 and #2 piece and couldn’t find anything big enough to place, was just fine clipping only the bolts. Could place something between a .4 - .75 if wanted May 23, 2021
