Access Issue: Red Rock RAIN AND WET ROCK: The sandstone is fragile and is very easily damaged when wet. Details

A really fun line that climbs straight up the face. The climb is deceiving; where it looks easy, it isn't as easy as it looks. Where it looks hard, it isn't as hard as it looks. Say no more - we'll ruin the fun. Get on it and enjoy, the clipping stances are great! A great place to take pics of folks on CYT or leading this climb or Mark Limage's November Daze just to the west of this line. We really struggled with this being 5.8 or 5.9, please let us know what you think!

About 40 feet west of the left edge of CYT. This climb and November Daze go up the same face.

8 bolts to a great ledge and chains.

AWESOME climb with one move up high that looks more freaky than it really is if you'll just go for it!! Have Fun!! Nov 17, 2006
Enjoyable climbing with good stances and a nice view into Calico. It felt like 5.8 to me. Jan 8, 2007

As easy as it looks; 5.8 is generous. Apr 9, 2007

Super fun, as was 'November Daze'
However, I agree with gilbert,
I thought it barely harder than 'November Daze'
5.8 is generous. Jan 3, 2008
an easy, fun 5.8. May 12, 2009

Avoiding pulling on the fragile flakes made this a 5.9. There is a big flake about halfway up the size of a kitchen counter that felt really hollow. The sketchiness of this flake kinda ruined it for me. Feb 10, 2012

Are you guys using a 60m rope? This description says 85 ft which puts me in comfort range for rappelling. My guide book says 100 ft, which doesn't. Sep 30, 2012

Even a 100' route is safe to rappel with a 60m line- a 60m line is always cut long when its new (they range between 62m and 65m), and it shrinks with age. Even a true 60m will only be short of the ground by about 18" on a 100' route. You'll be fine. Sep 30, 2012
Do a sit start on the right corner and it will earn the 5.9 :). My partner started on the rock higher and to the left and clipped the first bolt before starting. Good moves all the way. Sep 22, 2015
