Access Issue: 2019 Santa Fe National Forest Temporary Closure Order Details
The Santa Fe National Forest has issued a temporary closure order for East Fork Trail 137ladailypost.com/content/san… that affects the west end of the "Las Conchas Trail" (Trail 137). The order is in effect until the end of 2019. From the verbiage in the order, it does not sound like this closure affects any of the documented Las Conchas climbing areas. It does affect access to the seldom-visited "Lower East Fork" in the "box" area of the river. Here's an unofficial map I created based on my interpretation of the closure order: caltopo.com/m/D00M
Frustrating start because it's so undercut but once you get started, it's fun stuff. Crux is definitely getting off the ground. A "cheater" block rock shows up at the base of the route from time to time. Easier climbing after the first bolt on laid-back rock with more friction-type moves.
Listed as route #5 on route topo photo for Las Conchas Cattle Call Wall.
