Warning Access Issue: Access to GFNP (Roadside) REQUIRES a Daily Permit DetailsDrop down

Description

Face climb the bolt line on mostly pockets through a high crux to cold shuts.

Protection

5 Bolts to a 2 bolt anchor.

Location

Fadda is the bolted line in between Motha and Five Finger Discount. To get to Roadside Crag drive about 6 miles South on KY 11 from the rest area and park on the right. The trailhead is across the street, and a short approach leads to the base of the wall at the start of Roadside Attraction.

Permit Required

***Climbers MUST NOT climb at GFNP without a daily permit per person in each group.***

This route is privately owned and requires a daily per-user permit obtained from the Graining Fork Nature Preserve website.
This isn't about just you getting away with climbing for a day without a permit--this is about the climbing community respecting private land to ensure continued access privileges. Don't be selfish--get a permit.

When you're climbing with a friend who has permission to climb at roadside, you HAVE to go get after it. :)

[Hide Comment] Fun and challenging, especially toward the top. Using this as my "warmup" lead wasn't the best choice, someone mistakenly told me it was Jump for Joy (5.9). I'll get the redpoint next time. Oct 27, 2008

[Hide Comment] I'm pretty sure the anchors are NOT cold shuts unless someone replaced them. Apr 12, 2010
