FA: Luke Laeser
New Mexico > Los Alamos & Wh… > Dungeon > Trash Tower

Description

Nice, fun, and slightly overhung 5.9 with large holds. Appears loose but seemed solid.

After crossing the stream and running into the trash tower, this is the climb on the far left of the formation within a small "corridor".

Protection

4 bolts to 2 bolt anchor.

[Hide Comment] Fun climb, but be careful when clipping the 2nd bolt, I've heard of one person decking on this route and I've seen a second one first-hand. Springer hangers at the top make for easy cleaning. Jun 18, 2007

[Hide Comment] Fun, sustained pulling on big but somewhat slippery holds up the slight overhang. Find the crux passing the third bolt. Jul 31, 2008

[Hide Comment] Left of the two top anchors was nearly completely unscrewed.

Nice route with a slightly awkward belay area. Enjoyable overall. Jul 3, 2017

[Hide Comment] Added one bolt to this to decrease the decking potential. Its now much better for beginners and I feel better letting 11 year old lead it. Aug 10, 2017

[Hide Comment] ^^^^ Very nice of you Luke. I'm sure my daughter will appreciate it when she is old enough to lead it :) Cheers. Aug 11, 2017
