Description

Does it count as 'chipping' if you're climbing bullet holes? Someone went to town on this face with a rifle or a big handgun, and the chips that were taken out by the bullets comprise all the holds on the face. Still, the sloping dishes make for some fun face climbing even if it isn't at all natural.

Location

Start at the tree that's snugged up to the base of the wall.

Protection

TR only-- there are still some 1/4" studs left in the wall but there are no hangers on them. Bolts with chains at the top.

Bite the Bullet is leadable, unless someone nicked the hangers off this route again. About five years ago I re-equipped this line with hangers (or new studs as needed). The originals were 3/8" FWIW, not 1/4". Things might have changed since then as the fixed hardware at R.B. is constantly 'evolving'.

I'm pretty sure it was a rifle Peter. The guard for the quarry use to live right below this area until the freeway went in. Oct 12, 2006
