Crankenstein, like Silver Streak, is also among the better routes at French's. It's a bit steeper and a lot pumpier but the rock is quite good and skin-friendly, so do a few laps!

It's really easy to set up a TR on this route by climbing Silver Streak to the left and then traversing 10ft. over to the anchors of Crankenstein.

Just right of Silver Streak, towards the bottom of the dome.

The rest jug 2/3 up this route is a time bomb. Look out below!

At least we'll have a new 5.12! ;) Jul 16, 2010

Anchors have been replaced with 1/2" bolts and Rap Rings as of 10/19/14. Thanks to the ASCA for the hardware. Oct 19, 2014

This route was rebolted with ASCA SS glue in bolts in July 2017. Aug 8, 2017
My friend and I were completely shut down on this route now that the jug is gone. Has anyone finished this since it fell? This is gonna need a new rating next season. Sep 17, 2017

I heard from a buddy that sent it right after the holds broke that it was a different sequence, but not harder. Oct 10, 2017

Cleaned another hold off this route, feels solid for 5.11+. It will only get harder as a few more flakes come off. Pumpy and very good. Thanks for the stainless glue-ins! Jul 5, 2018
