[Hide Comment] This is here because history provides the backdrop that all climbing is done in today. No old routes, no new routes. The present is always built on the foundation of the past. Thank you, old bold climbers! Sep 5, 2016
[Hide Comment] Does anyone have a few more specifics on beta for this route? Aug 17, 2019

[Hide Comment] Stefan, the Sedona Rocks Climbing Guide does have a topo and beta for this somewhat obscure climb. amazon.com/dp/1453727884?ta… If you don't have it already, get it at a local climbing shop or Amazon. Not the best guide but it's a lot better than nothing. Personally, I find the maps and approach beta to be confusing and often inaccurate. Sep 2, 2019
[Hide Comment] When Scott Baxter and Gordie Douglas and I did this route, it was something of a departure from spires which was the Sedona climbing focus beginning with Kamps, Herbert et.al. and continuing with the small local climbing community in the early and mid 70's. The Acropolis was simply a sweet looking summit with a distinct mountaineering quality. When first scouted I was simply looking for the easiest route to the top. That was how the "North Face Route" came to be, and it easy to enlist Bax and Gordie in the adventure. The route isn't the most asthetic thing in the world by any stretch, and we weren't necessarily looking for hard routes. But we were always up for a little exploration, and it was great to have virgin summits close at hand. Feb 14, 2023
