Description

Climb the dihedral, following the series of ledges to the top. A great beginner climb and/or first lead. The large ledges make this route a good choice for practicing multipitch. Be sure to bring at least 25 ft of rope if you are doing it in three pitches.
  • RCM&W #4, p. 155.

Location

From the parking lot/visitor's center, this route lies about 100 yards down the road to the river boat dock on the right. There is a gravel area with several large rock. Sonny and Jaunita is the first dihedral on the right.

This has probably been the first rock climbing experience for thousands of Minnesotans. Those who travel to Taylors Falls, Mn. can find Sonny & Juanita in the Interstate Park on the Minnesota side of the St Croix river. There is a great rapid there for Kayaking, and canoe rentals and shuttles. Nov 1, 2013
