RAIN AND WET ROCK The sandstone in Red Rocks is fragile and is very easily damaged when it is wet. Details

Fantastic route for the grade! I wouldn't say there is truly a crux on this climb but it would be constant 5.8 and fun. Sport route up a steepening wall with good holds. Excellent route!

This route is the first sport route right of the large obvious black varnish section on the Panty wall and just barely right on the pine tree. You can't miss it, just follow the bolts!

Total sport route with 6 bolts and chain anchors at the top just over the lip on the varnished wall. Safe and well protected, go for it!
This route was definitely my favorite on this wall. Great holds and fun moves. Apr 9, 2006

This was my first lead at Red Rock and a nice way to find out what the rock feels like. Fun route! Apr 7, 2008

Very soft for 5.8 I think it should be 5.7 lots of holds no crux. Dec 27, 2008
Slightly easier than the route to its right, very relaxing. Jan 11, 2009

On 1/14/10, the ASCA replaced the anchor of this route- the right hand bolt was being torqued by the patina jugs below due to the angle- the anchor was moved right about 18" to a better location for both the route and the anchor- both new bolts are 1/2" x 3.5" 5-piece with Fixe rap hangers. We climbed this on 3/3/2014 - The route was a good practice for beginner climbers (less than 2 years of climbing). It's a really nice spot with clean rock and a beautiful view. Bunch of other 5.7 bolted climbs on this wall. Mar 4, 2014

A couple of thoughts regarding the anchor location on this route.

1) There is definitely not a sharp lip anywhere on the Panty Wall thanks to the thousands of ascents each route there sees every year.

2) This route is easily set up for TR with a cordlette or a long sling (I did so for my mother a few weeks ago). The rope pull on rappel is also clean and easy.

The Panty Wall is likely the single most climbed wall in all of Red Rock, both by private parties and guided ones. If the location of any anchor was an issue or a danger, it would have been moved. In fact, I actually did move the anchor (see note above) to reduce torque on one of the bolts. Apr 4, 2017
