The route starts down and right of Gumbi Groove. Climb up the smooth slab passing two bolts to a ramp. Clip the third bolt and make a hard move gaining the slab proper. Follow the line of bolts straight up staying just left of the black water-groove. Excellent slab climbing and a great addition to the cliff. If Gumbi Groove gets two stars this route should get two-and-half stars do to better climbing and protection. Good job by KB on the lead.

Seven bolts will get you to a three-bolt anchor.

This is a great one. Thanks, BobD. Pokey rocks! Oct 13, 2004

Unfortunately, the bolts on Prickles Problem and Pokey Minds the Baby have been destroyed. These routes are unclimbable in their current condition (or at least unprotectable) Apr 30, 2006

I finally walked over to look at these climbs over the weekend and they certainly are destroyed. My god it looks like the culprit used a sledge hammer to flatten the hangers. A really ugly and unfortunate act of vandalism. And from the almost violent look of it, I'd think a personal statement of some sort. Jun 25, 2007

chopped is a understatement. I've never seen this kind of visceral violence done to a drilled climb. Real angry stuff.

Hope your well. I'm in Taos from the 5th till the 8th. Beer?
