Description

Dances with Cholla starts on a ledge about 100 feet left of Red Eclipse. Climb up a smooth wall on cool pockets and edges to a overhang. Tend right at the overhang and make some strenuous moves on sharp pockets up through the headwall to the anchors.

Protection

Five bolts to a two bolt anchor.

Annoying scramble up to belay on a ledge full of cacti and loose rocks. Pretty hard to avoid being pricked. The route itself has one OK move but is otherwise unmemorable and a bit sharp (though I was expecting sharper from description). I might have given the route itself one star, but the approach/belay reduces it to a bomb.

I would only do this if you have done every other route at Cactus, you are crazy bored, it is super crowded, and your desire to tick everything exceeds your desire to have fun. Apr 2, 2018
